Manicure, Magic Manicure or Acrylics, which is right for you?

With the addition of the Magic Manicure to our Service Menu, we now have three levels of nails to offer our clients, who wish to come on a consistent basis.  It can be confusing, deciding which service is best for you, so we have created a comparison.

Manicure - This is a service that maintains your natural nails.   This service is best for people who have strong, natural nails or those who are not concerned with breaking a nail or growing their nails.

Magic Manicure - This service is a "step-up" from a manicure, since it gives your nails a little, extra-added strength and makes your polish last!  You can still break nails, however, you won't break as many as you would with a Manicure and you will break more than if you have acrylic nails.  This is a great service to help you grow your natural nails and not have to repolish your nails often.

Acrylic Nails - This service creates the strongest nails that we offer.  You are able to add length.  You also may break a nail occasionally, however, you break the least amount of nails with acrylic nails.

Okay BJ returned 21 days later for another Magic Manicure.  Here is what her nails looked like on April 22.

Here is what they looked line on May 13!  As you can see she has three weeks of regrowth, but NO CHIPS!  It really is magic!!

To avoid seeing the regrowth, either choose a lighter color or come in two weeks for another Magic Manicure.

Vanilla Coconut Spa Pedicure!

We have a new Spa Pedicure for spring and summer.  It's the Vanilla Coconut Spa Pedicure!  The smell is incredible, it reminds you of coconut cake baking.  Enjoy a relaxing moment in our comfortable chair and experience the soak, mask, scrub and massage lotion that comes with the awesome spa pedicure.  The service also includes trimming, shaping, cuticle work, callus removal and polish of choice.

Magic Manicure!

We have a new service at The Purple Pinkie, it's called the Magic Manicure!  This services allows you to give your natural nails a little extra added strength and allows your polish to last for two weeks, possibly longer!  Choose from one of our standard colors or have us make you one out of your favorite polish color!

This photo is of Rhonda's nails, 16 days after a Magic Manicure.  She finally got her first chip on day 24.  Even though your polish resists chipping, you will still see the line of regrowth as your nails grow.  To avoid seeing that, either choose a light color or have a Magic Manicure every two weeks.

Respect your Nail Professional's time.

Most people aren't aware that if a Nail Tech doesn't have anyone in her chair, she doesn't get paid. If you have an appointment and you are not able to make it, you should give your tech as much notice as you can. Life throws you curves, we understand that, but there are just some people that just don't show up. We reserve the right to not book those people again.

Some clients are chronic reschedulers. They take up space in your book and constantly move their appointments, often leaving you with gaps that can never be filled. They then end up with appointments that are weeks after they should have had one and can't understand why their nails are a mess. We reserve the right to not rebook chronic reschedulers.

Please be on time. If you are late, it can throw the whole day off. Should the clients after you, who are on time, have to wait? If you are more than 15 minutes late, you appointment may be rescheduled or you may not receive a full service. We reserve the right to cancel standing appointments with people who are consistently late.

On the other side of this, don't come too early. If you are coming more than 10 minutes before your appointment, you are too early. Many techs schedule breaks throughout their day. If you come early, you may end up sitting, watching phone calls being made or lunch being eaten.

Please inform your technician, well in advance, if your appointment is going to involve something different than what you had scheduled. If you show up with your full set picked or chewed off, depending on the damage you've caused to your nails, you may not be able to get another set. You may have to settle for a manicure, which requires less time.

Basic common courtesy is the key. Ninety nice percent of clients have it, it's the other one percent that throws a professional's schedule all off.
